Position Overview
The United Nations Foundation (UNF) seeks an individual to provide operational support for the Development and Partnerships team.
The Senior Associate for Partnerships Operations will be instrumental in delivering operational excellence across the team. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven, detail-oriented and adept at collaboration, and capable of thriving in times of change.
The Senior Associate for Partnerships Operations will serve as part of UNF’s Development and Partnerships team, working closely with others across the organization on budget, deliverable tracking, donor recognition, and reporting.
The position is based in Washington, D.C. (Hybrid Schedule).
Essential Functions
Proposal Development & Fundraising
Determine proposal concept in collaboration with the Senior Grants & Finance Manager and Senior Director, Girls & Women Strategy, by clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposals (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
Prepare proposals, including writing narrative and financial reports, gathering supporting materials, formatting information from project managers and team leadership, and writing drafts.
Coordinate team review, revisions, approval, and submission process in partnership with project managers and team leadership.
Strengthen the proposal writing process by evaluating processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate language.
Conduct research, analysis, and prepare content for pitches to donors.
Reporting to Donors
Work across the team to regularly track and document program outputs and outcomes for reporting to donors.
Prepare reports and supporting materials by gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and populating donor templates with oversight.
Support team review, revisions, approval, and submission process with project managers and team leadership.
Prepare content for reporting presentations to donors and other partners with oversight.
Donor Management Systems
Assist with managing pipelines and opportunities in Salesforce to track current and pipeline donors.
Track reporting deadlines with guidance from supervisor.
Ensure alignment with internal systems and donor requirements and provide backstopping when necessary.
Collaborate closely with the team to ensure alignment with team systems, internal reporting to UN Foundation, and team documentation and stock language.
Work closely with teams such as SP&I, Finance and Contracts teams at UN Foundation to ensure alignment and compliance with Salesforce and due diligence, finance and contracting, mid-year reporting, and business planning processes.
Finance & Contracts
Support the partnerships team as needed, with processing invoices, creating payment requests and financial reports, and supporting in budget management.
Draft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF’s finance/contracts team as needed.
Maintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement process (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly. (As applicable to the role)

Attend training sessions provided by UNF’s contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNF’s current policies and procedures. (As applicable to the role)
Maintain a strong knowledge of UNF’s Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information, and prepare reports. (As applicable to the role)
Other duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field.
3-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the gender equality ecosystem on women’s rights, girls’ rights, or other human rights, international development, or international relations.
Demonstrated commitment to intersectional feminist values and principles preferred.
Experience with proposal writing and reporting, particularly with private sector donors, foundations, or high-net-worth individuals.
Strong analytical and synthesis writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with budget management.
Experience with donor management systems.
Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the gender equality ecosystem or international development preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
