FP2030 is a global partnership that includes governments, civil society, multilateral organizations, donors, private sector partners, and researchers, all dedicated to supporting the right to voluntary, quality contraception. The FP2030 Support Network comprises five regional hubs: North, West, and Central Africa; East and Southern Africa; Asia and the Pacific; Latin America and the Caribbean; and North America and Europe. FP2030 prioritizes advocacy and strategic partnerships to influence global family planning policies and broaden support for contraception. Collaborating with various partners, FP2030 aims to advance the global family planning agenda and contribute to achieving the SDGs. Under the guidance of the Advocacy and Partnerships Director, the Global Advocacy Senior Manager leads strategic advocacy efforts to shape global family planning policy and financial priorities within the broader SRHR agenda.
The Global Advocacy Senior Manager cultivates strategic partnerships with key players in the family planning movement, including implementing partners, civil society organizations, UN entities, policymakers, and the private sector. With expert knowledge of the FP/SRHR landscape and extensive experience in relationship-building within the health and development sectors, this role is perfect for a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be adept at bringing together diverse stakeholders and building consensus to advance the family planning agenda.
This position is based in Washington, DC (hybrid schedule) or contingent U.S. remote.

Essential Functions
Technical Leadership
- Leads the development and implementation of FP2030's global advocacy strategy, with a particular focus on integrating family planning and sexual and reproductive health (FP/SRH) with other health and development sectors. This strategy will span both humanitarian and development contexts and align with FP2030's advocacy and accountability framework, as well as its youth, gender, emergency preparedness, and private sector strategies.
- Oversee planning and coordination of FP2030 efforts to expand global support for family planning by coordinating the presidential and inter-ministerial platforms, fostering a network of high-level champions with political influence on family planning policies and financing and drive leadership and action in advancing the global family planning agenda.
- Develop a concrete engagement plan to identify critical pathways, opportunities, and entry points for FP2030 to advance the family planning agenda within UN platforms and processes. This plan will outline strategies for effective and meaningful engagement with UN processes.
- Lead efforts to define FP2030's advocacy role in North America and Europe, encompassing efforts to bolster the US Government's international family planning and reproductive health programs, policies, and funding.
- Serve as a strategic collaborator with the global advocacy and communications teams to ensure a cohesive and proactive strategy in advancing the rights-based family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) agenda in the face of opposition and in addressing challenges posed by the anti-rights movement.
- Take the lead in expanding partnerships with diverse and multi-sectoral movements to advocate for and advance the global family planning agenda, enhance support for contraception, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Coordinate partnerships with organizations such as GFF, GEF, UHC2030, PMNCH, ICFP, EPF, WHO, UNFPA, and other global alliances relevant to advancing the global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender advocacy agenda. This role involves managing partnerships with specific Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with FP2030.
- Seek opportunities to broaden FP2030's partner base by incorporating additional stakeholders from reproductive justice, climate justice, feminist groups and other relevant sectors.
- Represent FP2030 at external events and support FP2030 convenings at global events such as WHA, UNGA, CSW, HLPF, ICFP etc.
- Collaborate with regional hubs to strengthen engagement with regional bodies to advance family planning agenda at the regional levels.
- Oversee proper documentation, tracking, and monitoring of global advocacy activities.
- Report on relevant activities to FP2030 funders and senior leadership on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborate with regional hub staff and other portfolios as needed to advance strategic partnerships and global advocacy work across the partnership.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree required, in public policy, public health, international development, communications, or other directly related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience, with project management, advocacy and coalition building, and strategic communications expertise.
- Significant prior experience working in high level partnership building, business development (especially for bilateral donors), and multi-sector engagement/advocacy.
- Demonstrable advocacy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate well with diverse audiences ranging from in-country CSOs to high level donors and country representatives.
- Strong oral, written, editorial and presentation skills.
- Team player with adaptable and pragmatic approach to work, able to work independently and with a team.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver objectives on time despite time constraints and pressure situations.
- Ability to think strategically and help drive projects from inception to implementation.
- Professional background in country or regional level work required.
- Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English.
- Proficiency in French preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
